Warrior Cat Names – 2 Simple Steps for an Awesome Name

warrior cat names

Looking to create your own unique Warrior cat name? Here’s a quick, easy tutorial to get started!

Warriors is a series of fantasy novels that follow the adventures of four Clans of wild cats. The cats in these books come from different Clans each with their own territories and skills. Warrior cat names follow specific patterns that you can use to come up with a name for your own cat.

Starting Your Warrior Cat Name

Warrior Cat names have two parts to a name that are joined together. First you’ll need a prefix to use for your cat. Prefixes are often:

  • Something about their appearance: White, Tiny, Tiger, Spotted, Dark, Raven, Yellow
  • Something related to nature: Willow, Rose, Flame, Storm, Lightning, Ivy, Lion

Completing Warrior Cat Names

Next you’ll need to pick a suffix to complete your Warrior Cat name. These are usually something that matches what you chose for the first part of your name. For example if you chose ‘Tiger’ the last part might be ‘claw’ or ‘tail’. There are also a few suffixes that have meanings you can use: star is for a leader, kit is for a young cat, and paw is an apprentice.

Alternatively, cats without a Clan just stick to the first part of their name, which is also a great way to name your cat. For example:

  • Bella
  • Birdy
  • Cody
  • Cora
  • Flora
  • Flower
  • Nutmeg
  • Pixie
  • Ruby
  • Socks
  • Violet

Note: Warrior Cat names should never include the following: spirit, shadow, thunder, river, wind, and moon as they are reserved as sacred.

yes I will XD here’s the sneak peek of Feather’s Fall:
Jaykit blinked open her blind eyes, hearing Snowykit, Blizzardkit, Aspenkit, Ivykit, Sunnykit, and Bluebellkit play. Jaykit narrowed her eyes. Why couldn’t she and Foggykit join in? Oh, that’s right, they’re BLIND. Jaykit sunk her claws into the soft moss of the nursery floor, calming herself. She scented the air, hoping to draw in Foggykit’s scent. There she was! By the bramble patch at the edge of the den. Jaykit started trotting over to her, only to be bowled over by Bluebellkit. “What’s your problem?” Jaykit snapped, wriggling free. “My problem is that your so grumpy!” shot back Bluebellkit as she jumped back into the wriggling mass of kits. Jaykit huffed to herself but kept padding over to Foggykit, sensing her despair. “Hard, isn’t it? Not being able to play?” Foggykit greeted Jaykit. Jaykit nodded. “But we can make our own games only we can play!” said Jaykit. “Yeah!” Foggykit brightened considerably. “We can play games like, hunt the hard scent, or something like that!” Jaykit nodded again. She and Foggykit were very close as they were both blind, and born around the same time. Jaykit remembered Coppertooth telling Jaykit and her littermates, Aspenkit and Ivykit, that Foggykit, Blizzardkit and Snowykit’s mother gave birth to them, and straight afterwards Coppertooth’s pains began. “Shall we try and join in?” asked Foggykit. “We can give them a battle of a lifetime!” agreed Jaykit. Foggykit and Jaykit started edging towards the kits’ fight, then jumped right in.

Sunnykit immediately jumped on Jaykit; Jaykit pushed Sunnykit with her powerful hind legs. Sunnykit was out! Snowykit bowled Jaykit over, Jaykit scrabbled at Snowykit’s back and pushed her out. Four left!

    here is my bonus story:
Coppertooth yowled, her belly heaving. “Don’t worry.” murmured Dewheart, her white paws on Coppertooth’s bloated belly. “It’s all going smoothly.” Dewheart reassured her. Coppertooth gasped, pushing. Something slid out. “It’s a tom!” said Dewheart, happily guiding the little tom to Coppertooth’s belly. Coppertooth curled around the miniature perfection of her son. “Two more to go.” warned Dewheart as Coppertooth’s belly heaved again. “Another tom!” said Dewheart, again guiding the tom-kit to Coppertooth;s belly. Coppertooth’s belly heaved once more then fell still. “A she-kit!”

Coppertooth curled around her three kits and Dewheart left, promising to find Acornstar. Acornstar shoved his wide shoulders through the gap. “They’re so cute!” he exclaimed, marveling at the perfection of his kits. “I think we should call this one Aspenkit.” said Coppertooth, gently poking the dusty ginger tom-kit. Acornstar nodded. “And this one Ivykit?” he suggested for the black and white tom-kit. Coppertooth nodded tiredly. Then she turned to like at her youngest kit, the she-kit. The she-kit was black and dark grey with Coppertooth’s copper-coloured misty eyes. Wait… misty eyes? “She’s blind.” mewed Coppertooth bluntly. “So’s mine.” chimed in Moonshadow. “My blind kit’s called Foggykit.” Moonshadow supplied. “I think we’ll call my blind kit Jaykit, don’t you, Acornstar?” asked Coppertooth, glaring at him. Acornstar nodded hastily. “Good,” murmured Coppertooth, curling back around them. Coppertooth started letting out little snores. Acornstar backed out, excitement alive in his heart. He has kits!
